On a prominent corner of a dull business park on the outskirts of Preston this RIBA competition sought to add an eye-catching gateway building. Our design reworks an earlier idea developed for a similar brief in Edinburgh. A flowing curve which changes from floor to wall to floor climbs through the building to give a top level that opens to a view across the park. Clearly modern, sculptural and elegant the soft edges contrast with the normal office buildings that are found across the country.
