Surrounded by similar properties, this 1950's semi-detached dwelling was one of few houses unaltered in the area. The client wanted to extend in a style reflecting the original character of the house for their growing family and home business. In contrast to the neighbouring properties, which have haphazard mismatched extensions, our design echoes the original ‘deco’ inspired semi with large horizontal windows and a little mezzanine deck. This new additional space can be seen as one large wrap-around family room with a study pod tucked in at the bottom. Opening up onto the large garden with views across Glasgow the new kitchen and dining areas are flooded with light.
