House 3 in Paisley

Occupying the top floor of a prominent Victorian villa, the former billiard room was bland and disconnected from the existing interior. The space was redesigned with a new cabinet-made central light and mahogany ceiling, taking an octagonal motif from the existing house windows. Matching the timber with that of the billiard table and selecting a colour scheme to accentuate the woodwork, the room becomes a finely crafted box focused on the game table. Glasswork with lead detailing inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright is incorporated as ceiling lighting and fitted into an existing cupola over the table. Designed to suit the house, room and furniture it is hard to identify whether the work was completed recently or as part of the original villa.
