Glenburn Parish Church

The complex of buildings at Glenburn includes the original church circa 1950 now a hall, the current church circa 1970 and various small extensions to join these together with a small courtyard between. Our study develops solutions to the accessing and servicing needs of the buildings. Currently our proposals range from simple refurbishment options to building a new hall to integrating the church and hall into one building. Simply the use of space has never been addressed in relation to energy consumption and building lifespan. With spiralling running costs we propose to reduce building footprint, consolidate the best structure, minimise energy consumption overall and cut maintenance costs. Consultation with the congregation, Church, local user groups and committees is being used to take the proposals forward using the designs produced as a working tool for comment.
