Garden Shed, Paisley

Completing our years of work at house2 in Paisley our design for a garden shed (to replace an old crumbling shed and glass-house) was presented as an alternative to a ready-made grand garden centre option. Formed in workshop made timber framed panels, the shed was erected on site in a day. Little galvanized steel feet lift the base off of the ground allowing for air circulation under and around the timber. Clad in cedar with copper edge details, handmade turquoise glass panels and leather handles the shed has a lovely tactile quality. Sitting on the boundary of the garden the scale of the shed relates to the large evergreen rhododendron bushes on one side with the roof sloping to meet the boundary wall and fruit-bush height on the other. A frameless glass corner with internal shelving provides the ideal location for potting seedlings or garden retreat.
