Cumbernauld Village Housing

Planned to develop a sloping green-field site on t he outskirts of Cumbernauld Village our proposal generated from a spiral form includes flats, terraced houses, detached houses and one tower house. As an edge to the sloping site a curving wall of accomodation steps from four to three to two storeys as the site rises. Retaining a consistent ridgeline the building forms a backdrop on one side to Cumbernauld United football pitch and on the other to the remainder of our site. The towerhouse identifies the corner of the site and acts as a marker for the development, this will also be used as the marketing suite. The centre of the site is enclosed by terraced houses and is to be developed as a private secure garden for local children.
