Billiard Room, Corsebar Drive, Paisley
more information
Occupying the top floor of an imposing Victorian sandstone villa, the existing billiard room was bland and disconnected from the interior. The space was redesigned with a new cabinet-made central light and mahogany ceiling taking an octagonal motif from the existing house windows. Matching the timber with that of the billiard table and selecting a colour scheme to acentuate the woodwork transformed the room to become a finely crafted box that focused on the game table. Glasswork with lead detailing inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright is incorporated as a ceiling lighting and is fitted into an existing cupola over the table. Designed to suit the house, room and furniture it is hard to identify whether the work was completed recently or iwhether it is part of the original villa.
