Occupying a corner site the new wavy facade, inspired by Gaudi’s Casa Mila (la Pedrera), undulates above a series of circular market bubbles and coloured forest of columns. The building overlooks our recently completed Barras Centre arched roof project with views beyond across the city centre. To the street edge the building is a mix of shop bubbles, a garden oasis entrance to apartments above and offers glimpes through to the forest of coloured columns which grow out of the nursery play area.
The mixed use development, including a nursery, housing, shops and market stalls, extends the life of the area into weekdays in parallel with other local projects and initiatives.
